TEAMWORK & COLLABERATION
My experience in team work spans over 2 areas, university for one and my current job modular engineer. At University the year group was tasked with creating their own architectural firm, job roles were distributed between my colleagues. this page will elaborate on these experiences

Teamwork & Collaboration
I have significant experience working as part of a team, and I firmly believe that collaboration is key to achieving the most efficient and successful outcome in any project. Effective teamwork ensures that ideas are refined, tasks are streamlined, and execution is precise—an essential aspect of both architectural design and construction.
Professional Experience
In my current role as a Modular Building Engineer Subcontractor, I am responsible for evaluating and interpreting technical drawings, distributing tasks among my team, and ensuring that each stage of the process runs smoothly. Coordination is crucial, as modular construction demands precision. Each unit must be carefully placed with four points of contact aligning perfectly—requiring close communication between team members, the signaller (slinger), and the crane operator. Given that we are maneuvering 10-tonne modules within millimetres of accuracy, it is a high-stakes, collaborative effort that relies on trust, clear communication, and strategic planning.
University Team Projects
Throughout my time at university, I was actively involved in numerous team-based architectural projects, each requiring different levels of collaboration and problem-solving. Some of these took place during COVID-19, meaning that my team was spread across different parts of the world. Despite time zone differences and remote working challenges, we adapted by maintaining regular video calls, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring that deadlines were met.
Additionally, in our design studio, we worked collectively to simulate the operations of a professional architectural firm. This involved assigning job roles, managing responsibilities, and establishing an online presence through branding, social media, and a firm identity. One of our key projects was designing a gallery space within the Eldon Building lobby, requiring us to approach the project as a real-world architectural practice.
My Role in the Project:
During this project, my primary role was , Visual Communicator and presentation coordinator, where I was responsible for presenting to the client and shareholders - this involved renders, presentation layouts to ensure clear story telling and visual impact, branding development and marketing materials. This experience not only reinforced my ability to collaborate effectively but also gave me hands-on insight into managing a design project from conception to presentation.

The Roles of an Architectural Firm:
This project also was a great opportunity to learn in depth the roles and responsibilities of every team player/role at an architectural firm.
